Hey guys so I found out which city I'll be in within the Chiba prefecture. It's a huge prefecture which covers a lot of land and has a total population of about 6 mill. In Japan, a prefecture is basically equivalent to a "state" in the US. I'll be in what looks to be a smaller city on the Pacific Coast called Isumi.
I'm really excited as it will be awesome to be out by the water and kind of in the more country-side of Japan while still being close to the largest Metropolitan city....in the world!
Here's a link to where it is on the map
Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot more information I could find on the city besides that it recently joined two other cities in 2005 to become a larger district. From what I could find and see, it looks like there are a couple festivals that happen during the year in that city and a neighboring city called Ohara. I'm really excited and can't wait to go and see it for myself in July! Hopefully, I'll be finding out more about my living arrangements in the next few weeks. I know I'll have an apartment but I do not know anything about it yet (location, rent, furnishings, etc.). More to come later!
Hi Kent, i'm officially a follower of your blog! Looks like you are near the beach, how nice, I clicked on the link to google maps and it gave me a video somebody posted of the waves. What are you up to these days? Still traveling around the US? Take care!
ReplyDeleteHey Lianne! Glad that you're following me on the blog! I've been hanging out around the house here. My older sister and brother-in-law are in town with my nephew visiting so I've been hanging out with them a lot before they go back. I'm still trying to unpack all my stuff that I brought back home and get everything organized and packed up. I'll look into another trip a little later, but for now just relaxing and taking it easy. Keep checking out the blog and I'll be posting more! How've you been and what's happening in Minneapolis?
